Wedding Photography Information
Wedding Photography Information
Thankyou for stopping by my wedding photography information page, I hope this will begin to answer any questions you may have and explain a little more on why I believe choosing your wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make during the planning of your special day.

Of course, every couple is different, and every couple will arrive at this page with a different idea about how highly they prioritise photography in the grand scheme of their wedding day, but I ask all prospective couples to ask themselves this; in years to come when you are asked by your friends, your children or your grandchildren, about your wedding day, do you hand them a few badly focussed and poorly exposed snapshots with no depth, no emotion and no story, or do you hand them a precious heirloom, a beautiful, timeless album full of vibrant, emotive images that immediately transports you back through time to that precise moment, and page by page tells the unique story of your special day? I know it is a cliche, but when all is said and done, the photography is one of the only lasting treasures from your day, the cake is eaten, the champagne is drank and the flowers will wilt, but the photographs live on forever, preserving a timecapsule of memories for you and your loved ones to delve into time and time again throughout your lifetime together.

I put my heart and soul into every single wedding that I photograph and am passionate about telling the unique story of your wedding day through a relaxed and informal documentary style approach, placing a distinct emphasis on capturing raw emotion and feelings. Documentary or reportage style basically means to capture exactly what you see, the details, the emotions, the perspective, meaning this type of photography builds a complete picture, the who, the where, and the whys - essentially, it tells your story. I have a friendly, gentle nature which immediately puts people at ease and will at times almost blend into the background, so much so, you may forget I am there. But there I will be, capturing natural smiles, real laughs, real moments. A tender kiss on the head,  nervous squeeze of the hand, a deep breath or a quiet moment of reflection. These are the moments that will, in years to come, evoke memories of not only what you looked like, but how you felt on your special day.

If you decide you would like some of the more traditional family/group shots, this is part of the day where documentary style will not work, so we mix in a little of the more traditional format here, but that doesnt mean we can't still have a little fun with them if you prefer a more contemporary style. You need a photographer who can efficiently manage the crowd of guests, call them forward and capture the shot without fuss, without faff and move on. People easily get restless during this phase of the day, they usually havent been fed yet, Uncle Tom will think about nipping off to the bar for a drink, granny might need to visit the ladies room and your flower girls are running wild in the gardens! This needs to be done quickly! I usually recommend 6 - 8 pre determined shots and allow roughly 10 - 15 minutes, no more, to get these photos done.

As much as possible, I like to leave you both alone to interact with your guests and enjoy all the moments that your special day brings, but I usually recommend we schedule about 20-30 minutes at some point in your day for some artistic couple photographs of the two of you. This is where we get the 'WOW' shots for your album! My approach is not about rigid poses grinning at the camera, it's about capturing the connection that you two share on this very special day in your lives. That connection could be shot as the two of you stroll hand in hand back towards your guests with a zoom lens. It could be an impromptu kiss on the head or a loving glance in between shots. Whether you are naturally photogenic or whether being photographed is your worst nightmare my relaxed approach and creative ideas will have us capturing beautiful images that you will want to put on your wall.

When it comes to the final presentation of your beautiful wedding photographs, I take pride in being a traditionalist at heart. Despite acknowledging the amazing convenience of having your photographs in digital format, I think there is nothing better than something you can touch and feel, a stunning, timeless storybook photo album for you to cherish and look back on throughout your lifetime together. In this crazy, digital age, I worry that we are losing touch with our appreciation for real, physical photographs. Having our images on a USB is good for now, and our intention to do something with them is always good, but will this technology still be around in 20 - 30 years time? This is why I recommend my couples strongly consider opting for an album inclusive package. In saying this, I fully appreciate that with so many things to pay for in the run up to the wedding, couples may wish to book a Digital File coverage package and I offer the option to purchase an album after the weddin

All of my collections include a one to one consultation, at your Staffordshire or Westmidlands venue or location to suit, usually 3-4 weeks before your big day, where we can meet each other to go through all the details of your day and I can answer any questions or queries you may have. I will bring along samples of the different album covers available and you can look/feel the textures and decide for yourselves the look and finish you prefer.

As no two weddings are the same, I offer a range of wedding photography collections to suit the level of coverage you require following a traditional wedding format. Of course, if you are doing something a little different, please do contact me and I will be happy to tailor make a package suited to your needs.

All Collections Include:
• Photography on the wedding day
• An online private gallery for sharing your photos with friends and family.
• Your images individually edited in my signature clean, crisp, timeless style.
• High-res images files available for immediate download from your gallery 2-3 weeks after your wedding.
• Unlimited personal print license so you are licensed to make as many copies of the images as you wish.
* Personal consultation 3-4 weeks prior to your big day to discuss all details of your wedding day.

How do I get a price?
I believe in being open, honest and flexible with my pricing so it is all on this website for you to view. When I am looking for a price for something, i am impatient, I want to know there and then what something is going to cost me. Therefore I designed a form that allows you to build your own collection to suit your exact requirements. Add only the parts of the day that matter to you or book me from dawn till dusk... either way, this clever little form will calculate you a quote based on the bits that mean the most to you... Have a play with it... I think it's quite cool...

I chose Sam to be our wedding photographer after a lot of research looking for a photographer who could deliver un-posey natural photos. Sam was unobtrusive on the day, some times I even forgot she was there, professional, full of ideas and very talented! looking back over the photos a few weeks later we got to re-live the whole beautiful day again thanks to her amazing work. We can’t thank Sam enough, Nikki & Mark x
