How I Work
How I Work
Bride and bridesmaids at Hanbury wedding barn

Your wedding photographs should feel like your day really felt. Natural, elegant and full of life, without turning the whole thing into a long, staged photoshoot.

I take a calm, unobtrusive approach to the day, quietly documenting what is unfolding while paying close attention to the details that matter. The atmosphere, the emotion, the in between moments, the people you love, and the small things you may not even notice at the time all become part of the story.

I am there from start to finish, so the way I work matters just as much as the photographs themselves. It is important to choose someone whose presence feels right for your day, someone who will put people at ease, blend in when needed, and know when to gently step in with a little guidance.

My work is natural and story led, but still thoughtful. I am always looking for genuine moments, while paying attention to light, composition and flattering angles, so the photographs feel real and relaxed, while still showing people at their best.

I want you to enjoy your wedding properly, not spend it performing for the camera. That means giving the day space to breathe, allowing moments to happen naturally, and stepping in lightly when needed rather than directing every second of it.

A lot of couples tell me they feel nervous about being photographed, and that is completely normal. Most people are not used to having a camera on them, especially on such an emotional day. My approach is gentle and relaxed, with just enough direction where it helps, so nothing feels stiff, awkward or overdone.

I am not interested in forced smiles or overly posed photographs that do not feel like you. Instead, I focus on the connection between you, the atmosphere around you, and the little moments that often end up meaning the most.

Whenever possible, I want you to stay present with your guests and enjoy the day as it unfolds. For couple portraits, I usually suggest around 30 minutes, which gives us enough time to create something beautiful without taking you away from the celebration for too long.

Whether you love being photographed or feel slightly awkward in front of the camera, the aim is always the same. To create images that feel honest, relaxed and beautifully observed, and that bring you back to the day in a way that still feels true years from now.

If you think I might be the wedding photographer for you, I would love to hear from you.
