Equestrian Photography in Staffordshire & the Midlands

Horses have always been part of my world, so this side of my work feels very personal to me. It is inspired by the quieter beauty of country life and the kind of moments that often go unnoticed. The soft light, the open space, the movement, the stillness, and the connection between horse and ownder all shape the way i photograph it.

This is not about creating something overly styled or forced. It is about capturing what feels real. The familiar places, the small details, the atmosphere, and the relationship you have with your horse. Those are the things that matter, and those are the things I am drawn to.

 A relaxed approach

Sessions are calm and unhurried, with plenty of time for your horse to settle and for things to unfold naturally. There is no pressure for everything to be perfect. Some of the most meaningful images come from in between moments when nothing is being forced and everything feels easy.

I will guide you where needed, but the overall feel is always relaxed. I want the experience to feel enjoyable, not awkward, and for the final images to feel honest, elegant and true to you.

Location

Sessions can take place wherever your horse feels most comfortable, at your yard, at home, in woodland, on the beach, or at any horse-friendly location that feels meaningful to you.

For those able to travel, I also have access to beautiful private farmland in Hilderstone, Staffordshire during the spring, summer, and autumn months for an additional fee. This location offers open fields, woodland, and a gentle stream, a peaceful, natural setting that photographs beautifully.

Travel within Staffordshire is included, and nationwide travel can be arranged if you’re based further afield.

What to wear?

There is no strict formula when it comes to clothing. Country-style outfits work beautifully for rustic, outdoor sessions, but there’s complete freedom to tailor your shoot to your vision. Some people lean towards a more classic country look, others want something softer and more understated. Both can work beautifully.

Dresses, knitwear, denim, boots, tweed or something simple and timeless all photograph well. The main thing is choosing something that feels like you and that you feel comfortable in.

The kind of images I create

Equestrian work is relaxed, patient, and experience-led. I focus on connection rather than perfection, allowing genuine moments to unfold. That might mean portraits, quiet natural moments, close ups, movement or a mixture of everything. I work with natural light and keep the whole experience as relaxed as possible.

I am always looking for images that feel calm, beauitful and full of character. The kind you will still love years from now.

What if the weather isn’t perfect?

Weather is part of country life so i never expect every session to happen under perfect conditions. Soft light and cloudy skies is actually the preference to harsh sunlight.

For truly poor forecasts, we’ll reschedule.

After your session

Your images will be carefully edited and presented in a private online gallery for your to view in your own time. From there, you can choose your favourite digital images and any printed pieces that you want to keep. They’ll be presented in a private online gallery where you can choose your digital images and artwork.

Each image is individually edited with care, and a selection of digital collections, wall art, and luxury albums is available.
