Who is behind the camera?
Hello! My name is Samantha, although everyone calls me Sam, and im way closer to late thirties than i care to admit. I am the person behind Samantha Lowe Photography and the one you will find behind the camera. I live with my husband and our daughter in a small village just outside Stafford, Staffordshire.
Meet the real me...
Gosh i hate this sort of thing but here goes... My happy place is at the stables - so when i'm not shooting beautiful weddings or buried under a pile of editing (and laundry) you'll find me at the family farm. I'm actually an introvert although you'd probably never guess that if you see me in action at a wedding, particularly when it comes to rounding up the troops for your family and group shots which is the one part of the day where you need someone who is confident in crowd control as i call it haha, but to recharge my social battery, youll find me, more often than not, chilling with my horse Dori at the farm. With my love of horses comes an appreciation for nature and the outdoors, i'd pick a (luxury) cabin in the woods over a city break anyday of the week so i guess i'm one of those outdoorsy folk. We have two dogs, a very old Jack Russell called Mia and it feels like shes been with me my whole life. She's 15 this year and the thought of being without her makes me emotionally unstable regularly. We also have a loveable doofus of a Labrador Retriever called Jackson who is also getting on at nearly 13 but still showing no signs of locating his brain cells. I'm naturally drawn to things that sparkle, I love a good cup of tea and after growing up watching F1 with my Dad I do love watching the Formula 1.
How did I get into Photography?
Following the birth of our little girl, I was startled at how quickly precious moments pass in the blink of an eye. It became apparent that although the human brain is truly amazing, over time, little details, the key little moments - are simply forgotten. It was then, I truly appreciated the importance of photographs. Photographs suddenly became treasures, memory preserving treasures that bring moments, details and emotions flooding back. From what started as a determination to record snapshots of our daughter's milestones arose a passion for creating beautiful images. From capturing our daughter's first steps on a second hand, relic of a DSLR camera, my journey with photography then progressed to equestrian portraiture (my husband surprised me with a professional grade camera for Christmas - I actually cried) and equestrian event coverage and then five years down the line I took the plunge into wedding photography. It was always going to be about weddings for me. I am a true romantic, a sucker for fairytales, love stories and a little bit of sparkle. I love absolutely everything about weddings. From the grand to the intimate, the themed to the traditional - each wedding tells a story and I feel honoured to be able to record this story for you to cherish for the rest of your lifetime together.
